High School Regrets

Hey here are some things that I regret already about high school. Maybe you can use them to save yourself!

  1. I took four years of Spanish and I still can't speak Spanish. Now don't get me wrong, even with four years under my belt I don't expect to be able to speak perfect, fluent Spanish. But I cannot even hold rough conversations. Zero. Zilch. Nada. So I wasted the time that I was in Spanish Class when I could have taken something else that I would have enjoyed more.
  2. Being active in clubs was important, and I was one of those people that liked to try to do as much as possible even if it didn't always work out. But I found that both student council and Spanish club were a total waste of my time. While student council actually acomplished some things, they weren't very enjoyable. I felt like most of the clubs I was in consisted of sitting in a lot of meetings without ever getting anything accomplished.
  3. I so regret taking AP Biology. While I was unsure at the time of what I wanted to do, I should have known that I wouldn't end up in a science related field and just not bothered with AP Biology. On top of that, I didn't even pass the exam so its not like I at least walked away with college credit. It was a lot of work and a lot of embarrassment (poor grades are embarrassing!) and alas, all for not.
So kids, learn from me. Try to remember, though, that as much as high school sucks (it really sucks and I'm not about to tell you its the best years of your life or whatever because that it a big fat lie), it has its moments, and thought they may be fleeting and few, they are the ones you will remember and look back on fondly.
