Review: Dinner for Schmucks

Dinner for Schmucks, a "screwball comedy film", stars Paul Rudd and Steve Carell. In a nutshell, Tim (Rudd) has to find an idiot and bring him to his bosses dinner if he wants a promotion. He comes across Barry (Carell), and the adventure begins.

This movie was good for a few laughs and had a nice romance tied into it. Other than that, though, I just thought it was just okay. Nothing terrible, nothing stellar. I guess that means there wasn't anything overly special about it.

So, I'd say, yeah, go ahead and see it, but not if you're one of those people that goes bonkers if a movie isn't AMAZING.

This movie sounds TERRIBLE! What kind of boss makes you find an idiot for a promotion... Strange.

Anyway just wanted to tell you... A Modern Pride and Prejudice is coming out. I was Austen blogging yesterday when I stumbled upon this post. It looks AWFUL. The acting is horrendous. I've never heard of any of the people in it. It's like someone tried to use Regency talking in modern day America but then decided that didn't sound right so they changed it a little bit so instead of it saying "Mr. Bennet, have you heard that Netherfield park has been let at last?" it says "Have you heard? Nehterfield is finally getting rent." Oh it is absolutly horrid. There is a trailer for it on YouTube. Watch it and tell me I'm not delusional. The comments on Austenblog were great. The only way this movie will ever be acceptable is if it goes straight to DVD so the critics don't blame our poor Jane for the (for lack of a better word) badness of it.
