Review: Breaking Dawn, Pregnancy

So I went to the midnight premiere of Breaking Dawn and then I went again yesterday with some other people. Now I feel as though I can review it more effectively, because I may have noticed some details the second time I didn't notice the first time. Or maybe I didn't because I was still in awe. We shall see! I was going to do one big post, but alas, my opinion takes up way too much space. So, I'm going to split it up into separate post.

I was curious how they were going to do this part of the movie since it's from Jacob's perspective in the book. In the end, I think it was balanced nicely. I really enjoyed seeing more with the pack, even if they did separate. If was neat to see more with Seth, because he was always my favorite wolf *cough* puppy *cough*. One thing I was disappointed with (dare I say giggled at the lameness of) they way the wolves talked/barked when they were in their wolf forms. I don't know, it was just different than I expected. Sort of electronic maybe?

I was impressed with Taylor Lautner's performance in this movie. I really think he portrayed the Jacob in the book, growing up before our eyes, and having to deal with all sorts of things. Not that he didn't do a great job in Eclipse, I was just really, really happy with what he brought to the screen in Breaking Dawn.

Editors, makeup artist (whoever, I don't know who does this stuff) pretty much nailed it with Bella looking terrible. They honestly made her look weak and frail. I don't know how they make her shoulders protrude or her cheeks sink in the like that, but wow. It looked great! I mean bad. Like, I mean it was a really good bad...ah, I give up, you know what I mean. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures of Bella pregnant. You think they would have released at least one still.

It's interesting how you get to see more about the different characters int he different movies. This one sort of showed more of Rosalie and Carlisle. I wasn't sure if people that hadn't read the book would really understand that she didn't like Bella all of a sudden and she was much more concerned with the health of the baby, something she's always wanted. I did enjoy the little lines stuck in here and there that sort of lightened the mood. I think any movie like that needs moments to sort of give the audience a chance to breathe.

The last post, on the birth and such (about the last half hour of the film), will be coming at you in a day or two. I was really happy when I saw I got some comments on the the first Breaking Dawn post. I really like to see the opinions of you readers, so never hesitate to leave a comment! Review: Breaking Dawn, The Wedding and Isle Esme

So I went to the midnight premiere of Breaking Dawn and then I went again yesterday with some other people. Now I feel as though I can review it more effectively, because I may have noticed some details the second time I didn't notice the first time. Or maybe I didn't because I was still in awe. We shall see! I was going to do one big post, but alas, my opinion takes up way too much space. So, I'm going to split it up into separate post.

The movie begins with the wedding, or more specifically, the wedding invitations. My friend noted that one of the first things you see is Jacob removing his shirt. Naturally. One thing I was sort of disappointed with was that Edward killing people and Bella's nightmare wedding were two of the first scenes. It was sort of a depressing way to start the movie. But it's the wedding day and everything gets happy again!  I know everyone had mixed opinions about Bella's dress. The long sleeves were too conservative. The sleeves added beauty to the dress. The back plunged too much. It was ugly. It was too old fashioned. It didn't show enough skin. It was classy. THEN they announced you can buy replicas. Why would you want the same thing someone else wore. Weddings are supposed be one of a kind, original. I can't wait to be married in Bella's dress! OHEMGEEEEEEEEEEEE! Enough already! Here's what I thought: I thought it was beautifully classy. I was curious, when it showed the back, how far down the see-through went, though. I thought it was a nice old fashioned dress with a few modern twist. Plus, there were Alice's additions, like the shoes (which I did NOT like at all), or the makeover (I wish I could get my makeup to look like that).

I thought Kristen Stewart did a great job with the wedding scene. The emotion she conveyed and her facial expressions were perfectly fitting. I was really excited when I heard that Stephenie was going to be part of the audience. She even got a close up! I was glad there was a tribute to the person who started this whole phenomenon. It was a beautiful wedding. Between the music and the actual scene, I got a little choked up, and I don't normally do that. So, props to everyone that worked on it, for almost making me cry. Flightless Bird, American Mouth (the song from prom in the very first movie) was the perfect way to end it.

I loved, loved, loved the toasts at the reception. It offered some comedic relief after the wedding. Then Jacob shows up, and whaaaaaa, he has a beard! I noticed Bella was wearing sneakers in that scene. I get the feeling Kristen likes heels about as much as Bella does. It's back to the heavy when Bella says goodbye to Renee and Charlie before leaving for Isle Esme. After a quick stop in Rio (I loved that little bit), they finally reach they're destination. I heard a lady on the radio the other day comment that she was disappointed that this portion of the movie wasn't steamier. I thought it was just steamy enough. I mean, let's keep it PG-13 people. I really liked this part of the movie. It was mostly happy, everything readers of the book could have hoped for, I think.

Phew, well if this is my opinion on the first half hour of the movie, I'm glad I split it up. Make sure to check back for the rest of the review.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN Part 1- Trailer

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo I couldn't find the actual official trailer, but this is clevverTV so I figured it's the next best thing. Seeing this trailer definitely got me pumped for November 18th. It shows a lot more than the last trailer did, especially of Bella's pregnant belly. Looks like this movie is going to have somethings to get used to, like Edward yelling at Bella, and Alice's new do...but we've already had to do that twice, now haven't we?

The first time I watched this trailer I temporarily forgot that this is just Part 1 and when it hit me (at the end of the trailer when it's only to the birthing scene), I had mixed emotions. I was like Oh, I'm going to have to wait EVEN LONGER for the next one, but also Yay! It's not the end yet! (I apologize for my terrible grammar in this post.)

All in all, I'm PRETTY PUMPED! I actually think this movie is going to be better than I thought, which is pretty amazing, cause I had some high expectations. It's still over a month a way, though! For now I must feed the need with watching the trailer over and over on my iPod (I downloaded it). So tell me guys, what do you think of what you see so far? I COMMAND YE TO LEAVETH A COMMENT!

For a while now, I've wanted to do a, sort of, chapter-by-chapter review of The Twilight Saga. Before I had the blog, I thought I would come up with a song that I thought was relevant to each chapter and put it on YouTube after some simple editing. But now, I do have a blog. So I've set a goal for myself. I want to analyze each chapter of The Twilight Saga by the time Breaking Dawn comes out. I've already finished the first chapter, I just have to type it up. You should see it within the next couple days.

Also, I'm pretty excited about something, but, yeah, I'm not going to tell you what it is. I just know I'm excited, and you'll hear about it soon enough. Make sure to check back!
